having travelled the world, I can attest to this sentiment entirely

look no further than cities like Kathmandu, where trash piles mount up in and around streets and waterways - I still remember the sights, sounds, and smells, of everywhere I was fortunate enough to visit

there's no better "wake up call" than seeing first-hand what developing nations and their citizens go through on a daily basis just to survive
