Strong take, much of which I do agree with, and to be honest I’m still wrestling with all this. I understand that lobbyists purchase politicians votes, and those that spend the most move the needle. Ripple sees an opportunity, I don’t blame em for what they’re doing. Is this not an opportunity to create awareness and oppose? Would a business as usual mentality not demonstrate weakness and defeatist messaging? I agree that we need to make sure our own house is in order first, but at what point do we get off the sidelines and into the game?
We’re not players in this game, imo. Create all the awareness you want. I just find it naive to think that anything other than fat stacks of cash or the prospect of fat stacks of cash are going to influence this particular situation. There’s no, “listen to us; ours is the virtuous position!” that’s going to matter. And Jack empty shelves Mallers and all of the other influencers put together won’t move the needle one damn bit.
