It is about independent vs subservient.

Think for yourselves. Pursue truth. Build your life as though society and supply chains could be disrupted for several months.

It doesn’t mean being a prepper. It means understanding what your life relies on for a moderate amount of time, and thinking for yourself.

there is definitely a level of personal responsibility, too. the more you can take care of yourself, the less you need other people to take care of you and the less likely you are to be affected by a supply chain disruption
