Coding puts me in touch with the universe, hear me out...

The universe seems like a giant computer (especially if we're in a simulation) with data storage accessible from the outside realm. We, all of us, are modifying the data on the computer as we live our lives and make decisions and build complexity in the world.

When I code, I feel like I'm adding complexity and consequences (written in static form), not just to the real world, but in a God-like way to my own little simulation in the computer.

Not many things I can think of produce this feeling... maybe playing music.

This is the feeling that captivated me as an eight year old and has ever since. And as a drummer, definitely, the flow state is very similar.

Both programming and music give me more a sense of discovery than creation

Kind of like the underlying execution is already there

But, it is an undeniably universal feeling

This makes perfect sense to me, except that I think this world is the real thing but it feels like a simulation cause like you say it's like a giant computer. That's just the real nature of the universe.

I'm pretty sure we are part of a simulation. Just sure if the quantum eraser experiment is a bug or a feature.

A simulation of what though? Something more real? And how do you know which one is real?

The simulation aims to determine which is better: individualism or collectivism. God, or whoever created the simulation, completed it in only six days, so consider it still in beta.

My comment was intended to be tongue-in-cheek, so don't take it too seriously.

Coding has limits thou. Not everything can be computed.
