i always thought the SSO thing was kinda whack, but it was a neat idea at first, until i realized it collateralized so much power into what may as well be data brokerages...
always used password managers, or the same general set of passwords for most things. but these days (last few years) keepassxc is the thing o'oer here.
i can't use 2FA because my smartphone is buried outside and i refuse to use it, i'm emf sensitive. i'd much rather have a site ask me for a second password, or a key... but these things are ...... as far as i know, KYC bullsh**, re:2fa..
i literally refuse to use services that have 2fa, because well, yeah. like i have an uphold wallet, right? i sent myself 22$ in btc the other week, (about 3 weeks ago) and keep forgetting to go dig up the phone so i can get a otp to log in, and then another one to send the funds.. i just cannot be bothered to do it.
backing up 12 words isn't hard. people are stupid.... and it shows, and its sad. they were acclimatized into it, which is the worst part. computers should have have lowered the barrier of entry to support those that dont want to learn things, in order to make money off of them. now we have all these end users that cannot even appreciate a simple well made thing in front of them, because they can't figure out how to log in.. then complain endlessly about it.
