Best node running on someone else's hardware? No such thing. Best node is running on your own hardware.
If you absolutely must pay someone else to host your node, Alby Hub is very user friendly and plays nice with Nostr apps via Nostr Wallet Connect.

Is this better or renting a server and pull up a core lightning on it in your opinion?
Depends on how technically inclined you are and what you plan to use the node for. If you want to use it with Nostr for sending and receiving zaps, then a LND implementation, such as Alby Hub, is preferable, since I don't believe Core Lightning uses Lightning Addresses, and Nostr clients haven't integrated the ability to receive via a BOLT-12 offer.

As I see AlbyHub only provides the lightning address, if you use their accounts, which means they can see the payments going through the address.
Is it possible to use your own domain?
With LnBits, you can also make lightning addresses, and you can even use your own domain for it.
