Facebook is requiring KYC just to create an account.
I just need one to open event links and occasionally use marketplace.
Anybody have a solution to get around this trash?

Yes to my 20,000 psychopath friends. A vast majority of which live thousands of miles from me.
It doesn't solve all my problems...yet
I feel your pain of having tot deal with your network being ont he legacy socials 😢. Despite that I now (finally) believe there's gonna be the 'final switch' of platforms in the next couple years.
