What would Nostr do?

be decentralized and not run by greedy individuals

The venue you’re buying tickets for is a central location.

Maybe some way of selling tickets p2p over Nostr could work but you’d need a way to prevent double spend

Ticketmaster is the Western Union for live events.

I never had this problem, maybe because I rarely leave my basement

The problem isn't the tech so much as the cartel relationship that ticketmaster maintains over venues.

In the 90's Pearl Jam tried to fight and lost against Ticketmaster.

TexTickets.com have had great experience with them. Have heard it is run by a St. Louis guy.
