How can Nostr fix this?

Create an ordinal of it? Joke lol 😂
nostr can help distribute more copies (assuming its something like a PDF file) and maybe help with discovery since there could be a social element
It can't realistically stop censorship in the medical community though
this is exactly why sci hub exists https://www.sci-hub.st/
Post the pdf
There's a reason they pulled it... Don't we want science to be accurate? Or do we not care as long as it supports our narrative? Sounds familiar.
I referenced a research based portal on December 3, 2024. I only received one reply about. Here is the post:
After my posts yesterday, I realized that I have a multitude of content for adult learners just sitting on a hard drive. I’m in the giving mood. So, I’m willing to share. It inspired me to think of an idea this morning.
A learning commons for the world.
I’m thinking it should be a collaborative web-based platform that’s similar to Github, Wikipedia, or SharePoint, but better. It will be a hub of learning resources including books, research studies, historical records, etc. that can’t be easily scrubbed from the internet because “they” don’t like the truth being told.
**This hub will be specifically created for education and research.
Perhaps, I can use the Nostr protocol since it’s censorship resistant.
I’ll think of a cool name for the learning commons later. Let me know of any developers that would be interested in working with me on this project. Mainly the platform aspect. Not the content. I know plenty of people who can contribute content upon launch. I can easily onboard them. Real people. Not bots nor AI. Human intelligence! Feel free to reach out to me.”

I’m still open to the idea if someone responds. I’m also aware that GiTCitadel is working on an Alexandria project. Perhaps, research can be housed there as well.
As a follow-up to my last post, if Nostr is used in a decentralized way to house research, Bitcoin can be added as well. Why? Great research should be funded. Otherwise, it relies on the researcher’s passion to carry out research work for free. Furthermore, outsourced research related work may be required to complete the study. Where would researchers get the funding? Do they apply for funding from the same groups that are centralized and can easily delete your research from the pub online?
Bitcoin and zaps implemented in an innovative way can help fund research on Nostr. Companies, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, etc. who believe in supporting this type of work can fund research as well. A “fix” to this is definitely possible.
I’m currently doing research to find real *tangible* solutions to problems with the broken financial system using Bitcoin. I’m focused on finding answers that can truly apply and scale to people in the real world. My goal is to provide *evidence* to support the solutions I find. I started doing this out the kindness of my heart. I would love to be funded. I’m accepting Bitcoin donations. I’ve recently posted about it. As an academic, I’ve been on teams working through the funding process to receive grants (millions) in the past. The process is long and tedious. On the other hand, Bitcoin is p2p and immediate. Any amount can be sent. And can be sent in a decentralized way. I haven’t *applied* for a grant regarding this specific research about Bitcoin. Why go through a centralized process to receive decentralized currency? Someone reading my posts might think I’m begging for sats for the research. I’m not. I’m trying to find solutions. And potentially be an example for others. Shouldn’t people want to fund something that can potentially find a solution to a major financial problem? 🤦♀️
So much irony. But I digress. There’s a method to my madness. My posts have purpose.
I simply wanted to add this point about funding the research because if the portal is indeed made on Nostr, researchers might still flock to other places because of the funding.
Funding the research with Bitcoin + Nostr being censorship resistant = Next wave of supporting and disseminating research.
All free and open science should be published on a censorship resistant platform along with the supporting data so that peers can attempt to reproduce the results. Centralized publications of scientific papers isn't science, it's propaganda and Scientism.
