With Obtainium I don't have to compile code but I can add repos or watch the app status on app stores.

With Obtainium I add the original app GitHub repo for example

No, we do not compile anything. Packages come straight from the source (mostly Github)

You trust the developer on this.

A planned feature is the reproducible builds DVM, where different vendors can vouch for a specific hash when building from source. It would appear like checks or badges in the UI.
