Ramiro helped me when I was getting set up with JMP.chat on my de-googled phone. This should be a good show! 🔏

This episode has me seriously considering ditching my traditional cellular plan. The math works out to about half what I'm paying for phones and it's more private.

I gotta listen to the episode still, but Cheogram + JMP. chat works pretty well - however there is definitely better UX when I can communicate via Signal or another messaging app on the phone.

What have you run into with cheogram ux? All I've messed with is the chat functionality so haven't messed with the phone side of things yet. Any hurdles you've run into using it?

Inputting new numbers is a hassle. Because it works on XMPP, all contacts have to be formatted as '+15556781234@cheogram.com'. Also, group messages that people add you to are annoying because everyone's name in the group text is just that long string - plus you have to click pictures to see them.

Yeah, I also figured out it's currently a no go for me due to my debit card not working for international transactions. Jmp.chat is located in Canada.

I paid with Bitcoin for JMP
