Why do I need Alby and Alby Hub?
I run my own node, I rarely use Lightning.
Just trying to determine if it's worth my while to set it up!

You might not, honestly. If your setup is working for you, then more power to ya!
Alby Hub makes it easy to connect your wallet to other apps, particularly Nostr related apps, via Nostr Wallet Connect.
It is also an extremely simple way to create separate wallets for family members that they can connect to an Alby account and easily have a lightning address without using some other custodian. YOU would be their custodian instead.
You can also use this feature if you would like to have a separate balance available for zapping, so that your Nostr clients don't have access to your full node balance.
It really is quite versatile, and they are adding in more features all the time. One of the more recent ones is the ability to send sats to the same place on a regular basis, such as monthly donations to HRF or something.
There are also ways to purchase inbound liquidity built into the app, though I have not used those, yet. My node was already pretty well established before installing Alby Hub.
