Ha, GDP is such a scam, high(er) values are always considered "good" and "prosperous", yet the government can easily and unilaterally raise it via deficit spending and monetary inflation, thereby causing unspeakable economic misery for regular working people and actually condemning more people to poverty than there would've been without its intervention.
