Devs eventually have to figure out a way for the network to pay for itself, ideally ad-free. What are the scenarios?

Many different funding options will be tried, because each client and approach will be different. Not all funding models will work for all clients.

Well, I guess if the client apps get monetized through subscriptions, maybe the client apps can support the network relays, developers and other infrastructure. I kinda like the idea of apps competing for subscriptions by providing more and better services, including ad-blocking.
