It depends on the configuration. I got major assistance from #[4] with my setup. You could also talk to #[5] who I think is working on the same issue with BTCpay Server.

Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction. With the help of npub16jzr7npgp2a684pasnkhjf9j2e7hc9n0teefskulqmf42cqmt4uqwszk52 blog post about Lightning Address Redirect I was able to get this working with my self hosted BTCPay server.

I think this is finally working. For anyone that runs into this I had to enable CORS for:

location ^~ /.well-known/lnurlp/lizard

AND

location ^~ /BTC/UILNURL/pay/i/

Without the second location the invoice would fail to load.
