Today at the Yellow Green Farmers Market in Hollywood, FL. Walked in for 2mins and saw this stand and the “Bitcoin accepted here” sign put a big smile on my face..😃

Bought two smoothies, paid with nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 connected to my nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct node at home and the transaction routed via my friend K‘s channel we opened, pretty badass that that he is in

Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦 and helped me route a payment here in Florida 🌴☀️

What did the merchant use to accept your payment?

That was the first question I asked, he was using Blockstream’s green wallet!

Turns out he’s been mining bitcoin since 2016 back home in Mexico, he has a friend that runs the operation and he manages the miners from here.

Also he said I was the second person to ask to pay in bitcoin in the 1 year+ he’s been at that farmers market!

Interesting. I don't know many people using that wallet for lightning. Last I heard was that lightning didn't work well in Blockstream Green.

Doesn’t work at all.

Gonna suck for this merchant if he can only receive 😂

I’ve had sats stuck in nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n since January and nobody there gives a fuck.

Now that you mention it, the pay QR code screen that I paid did not look like the Green wallet I just tried, so it must have been a different one!

I hope so, I got his twitter account so if there are any issues I can contact him!

nostr:npub1aeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qcq4nwx I’ll be in NYC late a July for a work conference, thinking of making my way to nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h maybe I can recruit some conference attendees to join me one night!

I see, your friend K seems to be in the money transmission business...🕵️

Haha that’s exactly what he said!🤣
