You have backed up your coins with 12/24 words.

How confident are you that 5 years from now you will acces your coins?

How about 10?

Backups do NOT deteriorate.

No catastrophic even occurs.

Yearly backup check. I also do this with people I onboarded.

Also backup check != back update?

I'm not stamping a new backup each year. So, it's mostly storage location, readability and pass phrase checks.
