Dark roast does not mean stronger, it is actually weaker in terms of caffeine. It tends toward a more burnt taste but may have more chocolate overtones than light.

Light roast preserves the natural fruity aromas of the coffee and has the highest caffeine concentration.

I’m a light roast guy 😋

Light roast maxi forever

Good to know!

I enjoy light and medium roasts over dark roast coffee most days. Dark roast coffee often tastes burnt to me as well. I do find that dark roast works well for espresso based drinks.

Similar to light and dark beers. The difference is the caramelization of the grain sugars. Light beers have grains that were only slightly heated, and dark ones had grain heated for a longer period of time. This doesn't effect the potentcy, just color and flavor.

Past partner prefers Dark roast

He said it’s about the flavor for him: not the heat it gives

Any idea why DD coffee always taste like some kind of tree nut (in a bad way)? I've always wondered that.
