I've come to the realization that we don't need operating systems with Nostr.

Aside from a basic hardware interoperability layer between a processor, display, memory, and storage, none of which have to be physically connected, transmitting notes just requires a protocol that is agnostic to the means of transmission. Sure, some media won't work with limited bandwidth of certain communication topologies, but... We could now build an entire system that just doesn't need a traditional "OS."

I was thinking about this as well, like a hardware wallet.

I detest the term "hardware wallet." It has led to much grief and unnecessary confusion for too many people.

I do not think that's correct, though, signing via keys is certainly important to functioning on the nostr protocol.

It’s literally describing a physical product, I’m not sure how that confuses people or what grief it would cause.
