Agreed. The current options for no KYC bitcoin are difficult to trust, but as an open social network nostr creates possibilities for a reliable reputation system.

Even if the trade is discussed partially in the open it's not hard to conceal the important parts (amounts and addresses involved)

Exactly we can do it on upper layer, and make it encrypted and no metadata

If people can figure out how to do in such a way that facilitates some sort of no KYC dollar cost averaging then that would be truly game changer. The desire to do DCA is still a huge incentive to use exchanges at the moment.

Although at some point it's likely someone would be in violation of KYC/AML laws.
