Heard on a podcast recently we should focus on 'unbanking the banked' rather than 'banking the unbanked'.
Really hit home that one.
🧐🤔 I was thinking of opening an Revolut account to buy bitcoin via sepa transfer
Thought a transaction was a scam, yet they list 1000 shitcoins. 🤷♂️
Why Revolut? There are a lots of banks in Euro zone.
Was most flexible for international travel.
That use case I understand. Was the same reason for me, why I got it in first place. But why Revolut to just buy #Bitcoin via SEPA? OTC Bitcoin trading was what caused me problems with them.
Mixed use. OTC Bitcoin was the culprit.
I guess the key point here is, it doesn’t matter where you buy it, just make sure you can withdraw and take self custody. That way you force these institutions to buy the underlying and close their future contracts (paper) - that is the manipulation. The #bitcoin #ETFs are #FTX 2.0, the ruggings will continue!
I know my current bank is anti crypto, they can block the transaction or freeze my account if they know it's a bitcoin company. I thought Revolut was more "crypto-friendly".
You can do OTC trading with SEPA using nostr:npub1yul83qxn35u607er3m7039t6rddj06qezfagfqlfw4qk5z5slrfqu8ncdu or RoboSats, then incoming and outgoing bank transfers will be with random private individuals, not some “Bitcoin company”.
Thanks for the advice. I was using P2P service with binance in latam but this service is not available in Europe. I will check these other P2P platform
Happened to me years ago. Some three months later they finally decided to close my account and give me back the funds. And I know other similar stories.
official complaint and keep it held open so they have to report it to their masters.
