Most of the "sats" you earn are forced to be used as redeeming tokens and I don't even know if there is real bitcoin behind it anymore, e.g., I made my salt of the earth purchase and got a good discount on merino wool undies and tried to cash out my 3300~ satoshis and it won't let me and is trying to make me use it for "10x redemption points" like..wtf is this. Give me my sats or GFY

We’re real 🙂 chargebacks aren’t an issue for you though. We should make it to where when customers pay with bitcoin there’s no holding period since chargebacks are impossible.

I've used it for a long time and it's slowly shifted more and more to keeping you on the platform rather than a means to stack and notice bitcoiner companies. Very offputting. For example, I was coaxed into using the app for "25,000" satoshis but 100% of those have to be used to buy discount coupons. It's basically Fold App (which also sucks balls now).
They used to let me withdraw in past easily haven't used in a while though

Hey John thanks for bringing this to our attention. Sats are available to withdraw after 30-90 days (based on the merchant’s preference). This is to prevent anyone taking advantage of Salt of the Earth and other businesses by earning rewards, withdrawing them, then refunding or charging back their purchase.
With that being said, this feedback has made it clear that we’re not communicating that very well so we really appreciate you bringing this up! We’ll make it more obvious.

Joking aside (I'm not joking), people hated rebates when there were hurdles like clipping the proof of purchase bar code and waiting 20 years for a 10 dollar check. This "wait and you might forget about it" stuff is no bueno.
That said, I appreciate you all are out there trying something.
So what I’m hearing is we need to email/push notify when rewards are available to withdraw. We can do that. Or how about we allow for a lightning address input and rewards will auto withdraw when they become available?
What you do with your rewards doesn’t matter to us. Withdraw or redeem them for 10x the value at the merchant you got them from (ie $10 off next order)
If a hold is necessary and unavoidable then auto withdraw to lightning would be awesome. (I personally don't like notifications but some people might--but some of us don't want to use email addresses for anything associated with our purchases)
NOSTR integration for accounts would get you a lot of traction here but it's a small market still, but frothy with bitcoin merchants. FROTHY.
We do have a nostr integration with most (if not all) of this functionality built out. Just not in production. As you can see from our account we haven’t been very active on nostr but we’re trying to change that. Will have more nostr related features and updates coming soon!
