Do you know RSS? Nostr is basically a reimplementation of RSS.

Or maybe this will help. Think of damus as a web browser. Its not a platform. It just grabs content from other websites (relays)

So "how do I work this app" is kinda like "how do I work my web browser" not to say that its as easy as a web browser, but that on a technical level that's what's going on.

It also makes for fun comments from people on other platforms being like "I went on nostr and saw someone have this insane take" but that's like "I went on the internet and saw someone have this insane take" like okay, were you on 4chan or? Like which website? (On nostr you'd ask, "which relays?")

Ok I sort of understand. I don’t use RSS as in I never understand that either. But I kinda get what you mean. How do you find cool relays?

Nostros has been the best tool for that in my experience. You see what relays a note came from (helps to show you what relays are allowing spam) and you can tap on someons profile to see what relays they are connected to (shows you where the cool people are/keeps you connected to people you like if a relay decides they don't like them)
