Lets say Nostr gets its primetime attention and the “famous” people join in droves. They’re going to want to be verified because of their self-importance.

The concept of "verified" only works in a system with a central entity to act as source of truth. Nostr doesnt work like that.

You could totally create your own "verified service" for these ppl. But like ratings agencies like Moody's or Fitch, they're independent services in an open system, not a central authority.

Yup. Makes complete sense. I was thinking in a sense of how their demands for verification will be handled by a decentralised community. They will always opt for an easy way because I highly doubt they know how use their own domain by way of NIP-05 unless they pay someone to do it.
