Yay, how do you ally with mullein? Did you get any seeds to sprout? They require light, so it's best to surface sow and not cover the seeds. Definitely, so beautiful!!
i got a couple of thousand seeds, they're tiiiny, and spread them around many different places. this is a hot semi arid climate and the dirt is rock hard, they did get plenty of sun. also got some young plants and let them flower both in pot and ground but no success. Will keep trying though. its strange since i know the plant sprouts so easily in other places. i do keep an eye on where i sowed them, maybe the right condition was not met yet. might sprout some in pots and learn what is happening here
Oh interesting. It's arid here in the summer but wet in winter. I notice mullein comes up in recently burned soil where other weeds wont come up and eroded soil too. Maybe try scratching the soil a little first if its compact. Also cold moist stratification can help. If you don't have a cold winter or if the soil is not moist in winter when it is cold, the seed can take two or more seasons to germinate, while they lay in wait. Good luck with the controlled sowing in pots... that should work, especially if you pre strat in the fridgr! πππΌ
Thanks for the tips!! will definitely try what you say. we do get cold in winter but its not so wet here. Last tear was extra dry, this winter we got some rain so maybe i will have thousands of mullein sprouting π€ππ±π±π±π±
I hope so! There's a good chance you will get some eventually if the seeds don't get covered. The babies are so.cutr. good luck! π
