That's an interesting choice. Why is it looking at my inbox relays (where other users write notes for me to read) rather than my outbox relays (where I write messages for others to read)?
Discussion
Well, where are the notes you want to be notified for? 🙂
Sure, that would be expected for where Pokey would look for notes to notify me about, since inbox relays would be where other npubs are publishing notes they want me to see. However, that's not where I would expect Pokey to look for my mute list, since that is a note I write and only need the clients I use to be aware of.
nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z, what relays does #Amethyst publish mute lists to? Outbox, inbox, or both?
Your mute list goes to the Outbox relays, not the inbox. The outbox are for things that you write, inbox for what other people write and tag you.
So, ideally, Pokey would look for my mute list on my outbox relays, not inbox, and look for things to notify me about on my inbox relays, if I understand correctly.
Correct.
I am sure that a good percentage of folks have some amount of overlap in their inbox and outbox relays. I am not one of those people. I am sure I am not alone in that, though.
nostr:npub1v3tgrwwsv7c6xckyhm5dmluc05jxd4yeqhpxew87chn0kua0tjzqc6yvjh can you update this so that Pokey looks for notes the user writes, such as mute lists, from the user's outbox relays, and looks for notes written by others that tag the user from their inbox relays?
Sounds fair. I'll need to think on that, the idea is for Pokey to not overtake the limited available WS connections. So probably I'll need some scheduled refreshing mechanism.
