Thinking about what I'd like to have as a kid, something non-fiction and visually striking to kinda bring a sense of awe 😲

Did a bit of searching around and found two books that fit the description:

Magic of M. C. Escher by Locher

And Fractal 3D Magic by Clifford Pickover (I actually have this one 😄)
