Out of curiosity, if you know/have a kid thatโs between 6-12 years old, do you know what they like to read about? Non-fiction and fiction both welcome ๐ฅน๐๐ฝ๐ค๐ง

Kids are unique, everyone has their own preferences. I assume it depends on what gets their attention beside fiction or Non-fiction. If I recalled my childhood, it seemed my time was on playing games and handcrafting after school.
This is brilliant ๐ฅน๐๐ฝ thank you None ๐ซ have a lovely morning

My favorite was Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech.
Dunno why, but series' are always really popular too. Dresden Files, Her Royal Spyness, Harry Potter, Twilight, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Animorphs, Goosebumps, A Wizard of Earthsea, Steelheart, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes. Then more classics like The Hobbit, Alice in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia, The Haunting of Hill House, The Witchcraft of Salem Village, A Message to Garcia, The Alchemist, the Haddawy ver. of 1001 Arabian Nights.
These are what come to mind as I wake up randomly in the middle of the night. GN ๐ซ
Anything by David Walliams.

Well, that's up to the child. How they want to know, nothing to push for you.
Oh ๐ฏ๐ฏ agree ๐ฅน Iโm just doing a little research in preparation for interviews because I want to work in childrenโs publishing ๐๐ฝ donโt have little munchkins yet but one day โบ๏ธ

Stilton, Dahl, Kinney. They loved Kinney because they are boys.

Thinking about what I'd like to have as a kid, something non-fiction and visually striking to kinda bring a sense of awe ๐ฒ
Did a bit of searching around and found two books that fit the description:
Magic of M. C. Escher by Locher
And Fractal 3D Magic by Clifford Pickover (I actually have this one ๐)
When I was a kid I always liked Beverly Cleary books like The Mouse and The Motorcycle
Maybe not for 12 year olds but for elementary aged kids
My daughter is in that range and she loves the Harry Potter novels.
When I was that age I was reading fantasy and science fiction. I honestly forget what I was reading exactly, just that I distinctly remember at age 12 trying to write fantasy stories. Now that's some memories that need to be dug up. I easily can bring to mind the non-fiction stuff - things like the K&R C manual, the X Window System manual, the Amiga Rom Kernel Manuals. Some odd stuff about mandelbrot sets and chaos theory maybe. It blurs into what I definitely remember having been in my early teens, so I know my memory of the earlier stuff is vague.
