Some, but many did not.
Most people did and those that didnāt quietly went along with the regimes plans and machinations.
Most people have good intentions even as they are misinformed or simply unaware. Doesnāt mean they are nazis or even just disgusting. These are just projections.

Whenever a big picture by in large statement is made and someone replies ānot alwaysā my instinctual reaction is that weāre probably about to dive into the weeds; that is a discussion of the exceptions rather than the rule and in the process we will lose site of the rule.
