BUKELE IS BAD FOR BITCOIN: HERE IS WHY

I recently had a conversation with two young women at a cafe in San Salvador. I asked what they think about Bitcoin and they told me that they don't like Bitcoin.

Really? I asked, but why? Honestly, because of Nayib, one of them whispered.

She said that many people, especially young women, have a negative impression of Bukele and associate him with corruption, authoritarianism, and a lack of transparency.

It's not hard to understand her perspective. Bukele is a strongman leader who presents himself as a "cool dictator".

Bukele is the best that could have happened to El Salvador and maybe the world. He made Bitcoin legal tender and created a foundation for the wave of adoption that is still ongoing.

But many, especially women don't like him. Women resonate more with democracy, inclusion, non-violence etc because their intuition seeks to harmonize and equalize all things.

Yes they need safety and leadership, they just don't understand how it works. For them, Bukele is just a rich macho who happened to become president. But rightfully so, they don't trust him an inch.

We all know you can't make everyone happy at the same time. But it's a fact that Bukele is bad for Bitcoin because his image creates a real aversion against bitcoin for some people.

You may think leftist (feminist) single women might be the least priority for Bukele. However, imagine they would all stand behind Bitcoin and start learning how it can improve their life?

Women are the influencers in the households. Many have significant or full power of the family finances. Many women in El Salvador own and operate small businesses, pupusa stand, cafes etc. They are graduating and building their careers in the information age.

The Bitcoin strategy by the government has been fair to this point as they enabled adoption. But they should not be involved any further.

Chivo was a disaster, it didn't work, many people got scammed, they were slow to integrate Lightning and it still causes a ton of confusion because of their bad UX.

The local population thinks Chivo=Bitcoin and Bukele=Bitcoin. Both creates a bad image.

For Bitcoin adoption to continue, the community and the free market has to push things to the next level from now on. The government and Bukele need to step away so that people stop associating it with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is hope, transparency, peace, prosperity and a system that you can trust because it's reliable and verifiable. It's magic, transformative, beautiful, futuristic, inclusive, permissionless, and it fixes so many things.

Bitcoin is "by the people for the people". El Salvadoreans today think Bitcoin is a Bukele slush fund. For Bitcoin to be really successful and overcome this bad perception, Bitcoiners have to come to El Salvador and take over the narrative. Bitcoin will be good for society because it keeps the government in check. Bitcoiners need to shape the future and write the next chapters of history.
