So it was in the early days of bitcoin that they did a segment about bitcoin on national tv over here. It was a student explaining bitcoin.
After I've watched it, I thought to myself: muhhhh this nerd money will never work.
Off course some time later I found out that I was wrong. 😅
Back in 2014 a buddy of mine got really into steroids. He was buying them with bitcoin on the silk road. I did some light reading about bitcoin and thought it was super cool but didn't come to the conclusion it was a store of value.
Then in 2017 a friend of mine bought 40k ETH and showed me when it was worth 2.1 million. I bought some eth and BTC that day, left it on coin base and rode it to the bottom. Sometime in 2020 it came back on my radar and I dug in deeper. 2021 started stacking

My first experience was in december '21 when I bought my first #Bitcoin from a date I had at a beach in Holland, so it was a great date 🙃🤣. In the months before I did not knew where to start with Bitcoin and read some websites and made the decision to make the plunge. But that first transaction was killing, would it work and when does it arrive. When it was confirmed it brought a big smile on my face and the story still continues today 😊.

I received my first sats from a friend in a study group back in 2013, he was trying to show me this new system of payments. Since them, I've been hoarding bitcoin, but never used it for buying anything. Why pay for stuff in strong money if I can spend fiat? Now I'm looking to leave academia and be paid in real money for good.
