The problem is that the majority of habitual drug users are not merely experimenting with altered states of consciousness, they are self medicating to avoid dealing with uncomfortable emotions.

I would also argue that these uncomfortable emotions are primarily a byproduct of our modern degenerate and pozzed antiwhite culture, at least in the USA.

That’s a part of it. I would say poverty through currency debasement is the biggest factor.

That's a materialistic conclusion.

If you've never watched the documentary "The economics of happiness" it's worthwhile.

Strong social ties and a sense of belonging are far more important to mental and spiritual well being than material standards of living.

Why would the USA have one of the most voracious appetites for drugs while simultaneously being the most wealthy countries in the world with one of the highest standards of living?

(prior to third world invasion of the last 50 years).
