Conspiracy time.

1. All of the new spot #bitcoin ETFs get approved.

2. Things look amazing, the funds buy tons, price through the roof.

3. All old money spot providers conspire on one fork with "helpful" new features.

4. They coordinated dump the real bitcoin cratering the price.

5. Normies don't know the difference and follow the fork.

6. Success, global CBDC successfully backdoored into existing.

7. Bitcoin remains a niche thing for much longer than most bitcoiners currently expect. Mass adoption possibly never.

8. New bitcoin has its issuance rules changed, PoW removed.

Why would the current validators use the “supposed” fork? Who wants to get on the gov chain that knows about bitcoin?

Not a chance I switch my node. That is probably true for most node runners today.

The point isn't us. They lost us already. They can trick most everyone else into never joining us though. This way they'll think they joined a movement and won, the most complacent kind of follower.

Well, if #btc was suppose to fail like that then we all are chasing wrong thing from the get go.

You know our overlords read this stuff right? I’m convinced we are causing self fulfilling prophecies by giving them ideas.

But back to the topic at hand, I think most nodes are ran by legit #btc hodlers who have had similar thoughts and are prepared to protect the blockchain

Why does the number of nodes matter? There is no voting

1.Gives node owners ability to verify transactions on their own without reliance on others

2. Further strengthens network as another connection to pass along transactions (if configured)

3. In the case of a digital cataclysm the few nodes that aren’t affected could be used to repropogate the entire history of the blockchain from genesis clock

4. It was a fun project

Decentralization. If we wanted one person running the entire now network we could use eth. Then they change the rules at will.

Voting isn't exactly right but running a node does give you some small say in selecting transactions.

That fork will be a once in a lifetime chance to stack corn for most people in the world.

True. For most the bottom of your first bear market is your best time. I think the window for 2021ers is pretty much closed. Outside bad news, we are probably above the 200w until next bear market.

You, sir, for a moment, scared the shit outta me.
