creators on nostr don't really have any special privilege, there is no marketing funds flowing from advertisers to incentivise the platforms to monetize content

it's also quite an immature protocol still, many of the clients are quite buggy

one thing it does have is tight integration with the lightning network, so receiving payments is very low friction, assuming you can convert your fiat into bitcoin and move it to a lightning wallet.

i know of several creators on nostr who are mostly self funded and don't really gain much exposure or get much sales due to what they publish on nostr

don't want you to be hoping for anything that isn't likely to happen. nostr is still very new and the focus of much of development funding for it is not being well directed nor getting good results.

if you produce video content, there are several nostr-connected video streaming services, and it isn't difficult to charge subscriptions for viewing content on it. the potential of nostr with its lightning integration is great but unfortunately not well realised yet. there is something of focus on censorship resistance and not a strong focus on enabling business outside of the silos
