Yesterday: Proof of Work – Chapter 4, Part I
Topic: What is Fiat Money & Who Controls It?
On July 25th, our BitcoinSafariTz Cohort 3 students gathered once again for an incredible learning session as part of the ongoing Bitcoin Diploma Course, powered by My First Bitcoin. This time, we dove into Chapter 4, Part I – What is Fiat Money & Who Controls It? led by none other than James O'tudor, the founder of Bitcoin Calabar and a well-known Bitcoin advocate and politician from Nigeria.
James delivered an insightful and deeply engaging session. He started by explaining the introduction to fiat money, its brief history, and how monetary systems are created and managed by decree (government control). He helped our students understand how fiat differs from sound money like Bitcoin and why it’s important to question who actually controls our money systems.
The session was interactive and full of energy, with students actively asking questions and sharing their thoughts. It was more than just a lecture—it was a real conversation about money, power, and financial freedom in Africa and beyond.
We want to sincerely thank James O'tudor for his time, passion, and powerful message that left many inspired. Your presence was truly impactful.
For those who were unable to attend, don’t worry! You can watch the full recorded session here:
