I remember it as it was today when bank analysts in 2020-2021. were saying that inflation will be around 2 percent per year, because

a) the ECB (and elsewhere) have smart guys who know what they're doing and they won't let it go any higher

b) if inflation were higher than that, it would, history showed, meant social unrest, and possibly some more severe earthquakes.

Translated, it's fine for the banking oligarchy to transfer your money into their pockets, rob you of your savings and lower your wages, but you have to be careful not to rob too much - because there's a point when the mob goes crazy and heads start rolling, as has already happened in history.
