I have not found one to have flavor, or if so, it's very slight. I was quite let down.

You just reminded me that I'll be seeing persimmons in the store soon. If you haven't had one, get one that feels almost too soft, like it's over-ripe. The texture, flavor, and tartness are quite the experience!
