How did the women's day come about, why do we need such a thing and is it also for men?

I never really got that.

Some intransigent minority pressured some organizational body to call this day "women's day", just like we have earth day, tree day, equity day, social day and tons of other days (way more than 365 BTW)

I doubt they do. Very few very loud people are usually enough to create such a tag. After all "it costs nothing and has no downside, so why not?"

Ja gut, das war mal anders und als Gedenktag könnte man das sehen. Weltweit sind Frauenrechte auch keine Selbstverständlichkeit.

Ich muss aber dazu sagen, dass ich es krass finde, dass Frauenrechte nicht weltweit existieren.

Dann frage ich mich aber wozu es einen Männertag gibt.
