I don't see why Nostr couldn't replace RSS feeds for podcasts.

RSS feeds are all public data and the audio files are all stored externally anyways. Nostr absolutely could do this.
RSS isn’t the issue. It’s people using shitcoin hosting companies like Anchor.
Would paid relays to publish audio files to be a possible alternative?

Nostr might fox something’s but this problem has already been fixed with podcasting 2.0. You host your feed anywhere, add it to the index and any app that uses the index can fetch your feed.
PC 2.0 was started when Alex Jones got kicked off the Apple podcasting index and since most apps used the Apple index he got deplatformed from every app.
Replacing RSS doesn't make sense, but relaying them on Nostr totally does.
