I found strike to be useful if available. They can directly change back to your fiat. Or send it out via lightning or onchain. Kind of a good combination for an easy start.

I know it requires kyc, but you get the benefit of easily converting and moving back to an account where you can spend it.

I think this is a really good and convincing point.

Then slowly they can be directed.

Explaining no-kyc, bitcoin, and everything at the beginning is too much in my opinion.

That sounds good. We don't have Strike here yet.

I was thinking of onboarding here on Nostr, where we can get people up and running with Zaps straight away.

Do you have something else where you can switch easily between btc and fiat?

Nostr could be good. But if they have no intention on joining nostr, it could be also a burden. But I guess it definitely depends on the type of people around you. Different cultures have different way of life, different way of reaction, therefore they are convincable differently.

I think it depends on what access they potentially have.

I onboarded one friend through PayPal, and another through Revolut, which they were using anyway.

PayPal didn't allow withdrawal to self custody, but I warned of the risks, and at least he got to experience NGU, which is good for hooking people in.

True!

PayPal seems bad if they can't send it out. But at least they can try, which is cool! And no need to download a new app, which is really convenient.

That is what my plan is, that I try out different apps to buy, test, use so I can suggest my friends, and a different people the apps, because I already used it.
