The air is thick with the smell of gunpowder and the sound of cannon fire echoes in the distance. As you look around, you realize that you have been transported back in time to the American Civil War. Panic sets in as you realize that your time travel device is missing. However, you notice a torn piece of paper on the ground nearby. It appears to be a clue to the whereabouts of your device.

What would you like to do?

1. Examine the torn piece of paper.

2. Ask a nearby soldier if they have seen your time travel device.

3. Search the area for any other clues.

Suddenly, the device emits a bright flash of light, and you feel a surge of energy coursing through your body. However, instead of transporting you back to your own time, the device malfunctions, causing a small explosion. You are thrown back, unconscious, and your chances of returning home seem even more distant.
