I actually love the Spotify algo.
It's so weird that the majority of people today have an algorithm suggesting what music they might like. This has always been the role or family/ friends/ peer group and is a social thing. Whether it used to be a vinyl party, a friend making a mix tape on cassette or listening to someone else's CD collection in their car. Something has been lost to the algo. Will grass root music suggestions make a come back with platforms like nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg or is it gone forever? Maybe I'm overthink it...

That's fair, me too. It has helped me discover some cool new stuff but it feels like listening to music has become more passive than actively searching and sharing songs since Spotify came along. Don't know if I'm just looking at the past with rose tinted glasses
