I live under major power lines and I’ve been wondering myself. I have done very light research and seen most studies show no correlation with decreased mortality or disease…. But it’s hard to find good studies and I don’t trust the majority. Need to find good ones I just haven’t done a deep dive.
It’s time to move. Why take the risk and they’re fugly
I agree. The spot I live is amazing but a year there is enough I think. I can hear them buzzing and it’s unnerving.
Been wondering the same thing. I’m in the process of finding a new place and their is really nice home but it’s close to a power line, like two houses down
If it helps, the strength of induced magnetic fields is dependent on the current in the wire, not the voltage. Distribution lines are very high voltage but not particularly high current when compared to household lines.
And the field strength decreases exponentially with distance.
Those big pylons and their bundled cables at 150 feet away will have a weaker effect on you than the low-voltage cables in your walls.
If you're properly grounded often it shouldn't matter. The way I understand it is that electromagnetic fields around AC currents induce currents in surrounding circuits, but that effect is nullified by the ground because of its infinite electrons.
Maybe invest in an earthing.com sheet or something. I really like mine.
I love love my earthing throw 😍
I've been healing really fast after my knee surgery. Good range of motion, normal swelling, and excellently healed portals where they made incisions. I think that has a lot to do with lying on a grounding sheet for the majority of the last 2.5 weeks.
I used to sleep in the afternoon, couldn't help it I have a health condition that prevents deep sleep. Sometimes I'd sleep for like four hours in the afternoon. I changed to carnivore diet three months ago and got an earthing throw in the new year... Within days i was not napping... Then I slowly started taking longer naps again so I was wondering if it was just a placebo effect.. Then I realised yesterday that it wasn't plugged in properly. An accidental blind test of sorts. I'll know if it's the blankie in a few days if I'm still clear headed and not napping.
Haha, I do think placebo has a lot to do with it. I didn't realize mine wasn't plugged in until two days after I got back from the surgery 😂
But it's been on ever since. I'm so sure and in doubt at the same time about its effects.
It is supposed to be good for inflammation, that's why I got mine. It might be increasing your body's ability to rest well and most healing happens in your sleep.
And since my mom has been staying with me and cooking for me, my diet has actually been mostly Indian vegetarian with some chicken, lots of grains too, and all cooked with healthy fats.
I don't feel any better or worse with the switch in diet except that my hunger is back. When I eat my usual animal products with grains and such, I feel a lot less hungry.
She's going back home this weekend, so I'll be back to my usual now that I can kind of stand and cook and I'll have a good clean comparison between the diets.
But additionally, AC carrying wires should be sheathed in a grounding foil that negates induction anyway. Power lines should also be sufficiently raised to allow the field to diminish significantly by the time it reaches ground level. You're usually fine around one.
That's a relief 😌
Do I still have to worry about the electronic meter reader installed just outside on my bedroom wall?
That's beyond my knowledge. But my rule of thumb is that you're not in danger of electricity unless you're in a high voltage switching yard and you're not in danger of radiation unless you're in a nuclear meltdown.
Yes, they're known to lead to bills. I'm tempted to mess with mine by inducing emf at various frequencies, see if I can get it to crash :-p
I’m the process of looking for a new place and found this really nice home but it’s kinda close to a power line… like 150 feet away. I was wondering if these lines would radiate me if I move there
For grounding I go outside barefoot and touch the earth and trees :)
I wouldn’t do it. EMF frequencies are toxic. I used to live next to a power line right after college for a few months and I moved . They sell for less than not close to one due to this
Thanks bro. This house is a no go then
The emf frequencies gotta be off the charts. So true
You should be okay if you don’t touch it
