If modern architects had free hand our cities would all look like Le Corbusier‘s dystopian plans he made for Paris.
I regard modern Architects as the biggest aesthetic terrorists of our time. You can ignore bad paintings, music, movies, computer games or sculptures, but you can’t ignore bad houses, because if there are no alternatives left you have to live in them.
It has more to do with costs and the shittiness of fiat than architecture.
I am not disagreeing but fiat enables the worst of the worst to hold positions of power and influence in the architecture realm
And a lot of bad things happen in bad houses. Of course, bad things can happen in beautiful houses too. But we'd rather bad things happen in a beautiful house than bad things happen in a bad house.
