"Demurrage as the security budget solution for fixed supply currencies" is used increasingly as a potential solution to the #bitcoin security budget and a way as to not touch the 21M hard cap.

Any non maxis out there that have gamed this through or we adding this concept to the heretic folder like tail emission?

tail emission = infinite supply + future security based on inflation

demurrage = fixed supply + future security thru continuous small fee from everyone based on time

is this correct?

Seems like the outcome is the same (constant devaluation), but there is probably subtle differences I'm not seeing

Demurrage I believe is a maritime concept mainly used in the shipping industry when containers are held up in customs. I think #ergo some random crypto project uses this to avoid constant inflation.

I can see a future where the mother of all hard fork wars plays out where one side, (maybe BlackRock et al) push for unlocking satoshi's coins and demurrage seems like a plausible proposal for them.

Personally speaking I'm all up for a high tx fee environment and slow movement of bitcoin on the settlement layer while we transition to daily XMR usage. My bitcoin UTXOs are consolidated and I'm happy not transacting BTC as I place my long term bets in this regard.

You have summoned me with #ergo :)

Yup, you're correct. Ergo has implemented demmurage. Keeping the blockchain tidy and giving miners additional rewards...
