One of the core tenants of nostr is censorship-resistance.

Is what most of us here rallied around.

If we all use blastr, if we all just use the Damus relay or any of the central hubs, then broken clients will *feel* like they are not broken.

But they are:

if a person is censored by the main relays, broken clients will simply not show you that person any longer.

The “small relay” idea is not against blastr, is not against Damus relay or any central relay hub.

Is to highlight an issue that has been ignored or deprioritized by the vast majority of clients.

We can do better but only if enough people care.

Make nostr decentralized again.

Would be cool of #nostr clients had a setting to turn on something like “Relay Roulette” where each time a user opens the app, or each day, or some other interval, the client selects and rotates small relays automatically. Then user toggles off to go back to their preferred/selected relays as they had before whenever they want.

Would be a great feature for Damus, Primal, Nostur, NOS, YakiHonne, apps.

Malls used to have to secure “anchor” stores before they stood up to make sure they got critical levels of traffic to keep the smaller proprietors alive.

What if some principle was in place (informally or formally) to ask or recommend to contributors are spread around key relays. Then add people want to find their content, they will start looking on those relays?

Thanks. Huge list, but not very helpful. Tried a few I. Damus and most gave errors. Not sure many users will work on adding relays if this is the best list. But thanks again.

I kinda think it's wrong to pick a relay from a list. Ideally you must already know some relays you like for whatever reason when you get here.
