As we expand upon #grownostr I believe that it's healthy to continue to talk about our other interests so that new Nostriches feel welcomed and can find a wide variety of people to follow. With that in mind, I love the outdoors. I grew up hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, etc. I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forests and mountains. If the weather is warm, I'm going to be outside.

I love the outdoors and have gone on extended backpacking trips, built snow caves and witnessed a charging 🦬 and 🐻 up close (not at the same time though 😅).

There is a lot of this going on. This is one of the things that confuses me about Nostr - there is supposedly huge user growth happening but it’s very difficult to identify / find authentic accounts that are non zappable - suggesting that either I’m in a relay echo chamber or normie nonsense still truly hasn’t migrated to Nostr (I think it maybe a combination of both).
Maybe new joiners are just ramping up still so the content behind hashtags isn’t there yet. Also it may be a dopamine thing - normie users checking Nostr out but realizing there isn’t the social graph here to feed them those sweet, sweet likes (this is not a criticism so much as a statement of fact, many of us now feel the same with regard to Twitter and the lack of zaps/sats).
In any case I hope this is something that improves. I’d love to be able to organically discover some great non-zappable photographers, engage with them and bring them into the fold lol.
I'm not much of an outdoorsman. I prefer to stay home and play with fiber. Dye wool, spin yarn, knit, weave. I like to cook and it's great to cook with hunted or fished game, but I don't have much of an interest to go out and do it. I like to tend my garden to grow vegetables and flowers that I like. I'm temporarily relocated to a highrise apartment so the only plant I have is an airplane, unfortunately. I'm super bummed to be missing the season this year.

Never been bear hunting, but I've been to the the game commission to watch the bears come in during the season 👀
