That looks like assembly programming ๐Ÿ‘€

I mean it is assembly of a sort...

Could have fooled me ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lol, it's knitterese

No shit, right? I'm just gonna go do something easier than knitting, like 3D print a dragon using line by line manual G-code.

Ha ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'd bet the comparison is more accurate than you think. Textile machines were among the first functional computers.

I never really thought about that.

True, that's where punch cards came from.

Apparently knitting languages differ by country, my mum is always "translating" patterns ๐Ÿ˜‚

There can be a lot of different words in it if you're not just making a basic square or rectangle, lol. Crochet is worse because a single crochet stitch is a double crochet stitch depending on if you're using American terms or English terms ๐Ÿ˜‚.

My mum does crochet ๐Ÿ˜‚ it's called knitting here regardless of method (kinit, crochet even weaving use the same word) so my poor Japanese mum is like "I can't knit in English"

๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†•๏ธ

Lol occasionally I'll correct people, friends mostly, with an uh ackshually it's whichever one. But mostly I just let it go.

Honestly, looking at the finished product I can't really see the difference ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I'm a foreigner to the yarn ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Yeah, I'd need a dictionary with pictures ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ

Hey, that's another product idea ๐Ÿค” instead of just selling the things you make, you can sell a deciphering book for those who want to try themselves ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Verypink knits and Nimble Needles already did that ๐Ÿ˜‚. They both have really good video tutorials on basically everything knitting. I really do want to get on hivetalk and do a knitting sesh though.
