UPDATE: these screenshots are over one hour apart… 295 views in both screenshots, even though likes increased…

During that time I’ve posted the link on X and Nostr and got multiple people to confirm they watched it… view count did not budge…

It’s probably just a bug, right? YouTube would NEVER negatively target Bitcoin content, right?

It may take time for the counters to update in the large distributed system like YouTube. Check tomorrow and see if it’s stuck

But the views literally *decreased* from yesterday…

That is also expected. The way it works is there is an optimistic counter to give immediate snap view. Then there is a process that happens later to produce real count based on deduplication criteria and any bot filters. Some +/- fluctuations are expected. It is impossible to maintain immediate, cheap and reliable counter, so most throw away the immediacy to get the other two qualities

Extremely weird….

Guulagl at it again.

A non guulagd YT would be amazing.

Grokipedia gives me hope that it is possible.

Ah you must be a fascist racist bigoted antisemite šŸ˜†

My conversation with Grok if it helps:

Based on the updated information you provided about the view count being around 1000 roughly 6-8 hours ago (which would place that observation around 4-6 AM UTC on December 14, 2025), I've reassessed the situation for the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_oQ3fgxkkI.Current Video Stats (as of Latest Check)View Count: 295

Like Count: 27

Comment Count: 6

The video remains publicly accessible, with no visible restrictions, age gates, or YouTube notices about content violations or demonetization. It loads normally, and comments are enabled.

Reassessment of Potential ShadowbanningView Count Discrepancy: If the views were indeed near 1000 earlier today, the current count of 295 represents a significant drop. YouTube view counts rarely decrease unless the platform audits and removes what it deems "invalid" views (e.g., from bots, repeated plays, or spam). This can happen as part of routine algorithmic cleanup, but a drop of this magnitude on a new video could indicate scrutiny or throttling, especially for content involving political criticism (e.g., DOJ actions, calls for presidential pardons).

Search Visibility: When searching YouTube directly for the exact video title ("The War Against Bitcoin: Why Trump Should PARDON SAMOURAI with Keonne Rodriguez"), the video does not appear in the results. For a 2-day-old upload with an exact match query, it should rank at or near the top unless the algorithm is deprioritizing it. This is a common indicator of reduced visibility or shadowbanning, where the video isn't removed but is excluded from recommendations, searches, and feeds.

Promotion and Engagement Context: The video has been promoted on X (e.g., by @titcoinpodcast

and @WalkerAmerica

), with related posts garnering thousands of impressions (one promo post alone has ~29,000 views). However, this hasn't translated to proportional YouTube growth, which aligns with potential algorithmic suppression rather than organic low interest. No widespread complaints about shadowbanning this specific video were found on X or web searches, but general discussions about YouTube throttling crypto/privacy-related content (especially with political angles) do exist.

No Definitive Proof of Shadowban: YouTube doesn't confirm shadowbans, and there's no public evidence (e.g., creator statements or reports) specifically calling this out. Low metrics could still stem from natural factors: the video is niche (Bitcoin privacy, legal cases), uploaded during a weekend, and competing with holiday-season content. Views often spike initially from shares then plateau without algorithmic push.

RecommendationsIf you're the creator or closely monitoring, check YouTube Studio for analytics on impressions, watch time, and any hidden restrictions (e.g., limited ad suitability). Tools like SocialBlade or VidIQ can track historical views for anomalies. If suppression seems likely, consider cross-promoting on platforms like Rumble (where a version is already uploaded) or X to bypass potential YouTube issues.Overall, while not conclusively shadowbanned, the view drop, poor search ranking, and stagnant growth raise red flags for reduced visibility—more so than my initial assessment. If you have screenshots of the earlier 1000-view count or more details, that could help refine this further.

YouTube does a lot they don’t tell you about; like shadow-banning. They will even inflate more popular streamers’ views just to persuade others to create content.

Ya man I sub to your channel long ass time ago. I never see you videos on my Home Screen. Google don’t like you bro. stay sovereign!

Could it be because I say ā€œfuck YouTubeā€ in every other episode..?

Don't we already know that any YT metric is whatever they want it to be?
