If the dollar weakens, and the purchasing power of bitcoin goes down at the same rate, than BTC/USD stays the same
That would be the opposite actually right? If the dollar weakens, then to stay the same purchasing power BTC would have to go *up* by the same rate the dollar fell.
Regardless, I’m saying all of these intraday moves are just noise. Up 5k, down 7k, up 2k, none of this is movement. It’s just bitcoin sitting around.
Nvm I think I get your comment, but regardless, it’s noise. No 1-2% move in Bitcoin means anything. Some random alignment or decoupling for a week will mean nothing in 6 months.
You misread my statement. If the purchasing power of the dollar and bitcoin fall at the same rate, then btc/USD stays the same. It's a tautologically, but a different way to look at it.
Bitcoiners are used to 20% swings. Wallstreet traders jumps out of a window if they see 10% swings. Bessent said expect a 20% hit on the market, that means expect a 50% hit overall because they are rewiring the money printers for 600Hz power.
